Will anything tame my hair? | GHD V Gold review

Hair. It's one of those subjects that makes me very envious of others and yet great at the same time. I have been blessed with extremely thick hair, but most of the time impossible to tame or a lot of effort to style - trust me, I've tried.

I am not one to use heat as a first choice to when doing my hair as I realise the long term damage it can cause. My last pair of Babyliss straightener's have lasted me since I was 13, (I am now 21). I definitely recommend Babyliss as they are an affordable hair styling brand, but they work incredibly well! I just thought it was about time, after resisting for years to buy some GHD's. I've heard amazing reviews about them and if anything can tame my hair, they can!

I purchased the GHD V Gold Professional Styler Max. They were a small fortune, but I have been very impressed.

As you can see above, I purchased the wide plate GHD's as I read tones of reviews stating that they're a God send if you have thick/curly hair. They come in beautiful packaging too which is an absolute bonus! I find them very light and for a hair styling tool is great and a lot easier to use. They also definitely give a high gloss feeling my hair which is lovely as some straighteners can make your hair look lifeless. Not only that, but they warm up so quickly and automatically switch off after 30 minutes of not using them, or forget to turn them off.

The night before, I washed my hair just using Herbal Essences Moroccan My Shine collection and let it dry over night. I also use a Wella Heat Protection Spray and Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Crystal Finishing Oil once finished.

 BEFORE
(sorry for the just woken up, dressing gown, no make up photo).

AFTER

It may not be the best photo to show how soft my hair felt after straightening. I've never had my hair feel so healthy, thick and soft when using heat. Like I said, I don't advise using heat on your hair, just sometimes it is nice for a change or to style your hair.

If you have thick, curly or wavy hair and your fed up of trying to get more controllable locks, I really do recommend GHD's. They're honestly worth every single penny and from what I've read and been told, amazing customer care if anything were to go wrong with them.

Have you ever tried GHD's?
